Therefore, this product is Mexican from start to finish, and potato production is sufficient to meet national demand, so it is not necessary to import potatoes to supply consumption.
She added that for the campaign, they are using the word "APAPÀCHATE" because it is of Mexican origin and is used to give the potato that identity in the country. "There is no translation in other languages, and it is understood as a caress to the soul, so cooking with potatoes is literally an act of love and it is a versatile product, as there are 3,000 different recipes that include potatoes as an ingredient, and it is very affordable," she explained.
Today, per capita consumption in Mexico is 12 kilos per year; however, in countries like the Netherlands, it’s 120 kilos, and in the United States, it’s 60 kilos per capita per year. Therefore, he added, the country’s potential is significant.
In response, this plan, which will be launched next week, aims to promote the consumption of Mexican potatoes, highlighting their quality, nutritional benefits, and positive impact on the local economy.
In addition to contributing to the livelihood of thousands of family members who depend on this important food, our main objective is to increase demand for domestic potatoes, positioning them as an essential ingredient for well-being, both physical and emotional.
He indicated that "Apapáchate" promotes potato consumption as an act of self-love, health, and connection with our roots.
