China: Chinese potato market grows weaker
The trade in potatoes from storage is nearly over in north China. The potato reserves from Wuchuan in Inner Mongolia have nearly all been sent to Yunnan and Guizhou.
Price of new potatoes drops
New potatoes from Yunnan recently entered the market, but the trade volume is still small. The potato reserves in other production areas are running low as well. These are mostly potatoes from small cellars supplied to nearby markets. Suppliers sell as they see fit, but buyers are not that enthusiastic. The market is quite weak at the moment.
The supply of new potatoes from Tengzhou and Jiaozhou in Shandong is stable, but buyers are not very active. Trade volumes remain small. The price dropped by around 0.10 yuan [0.01 USD]. The price of potatoes from Yunnan is also falling because the supply volume is growing, but buyers are not enthusiastic and trade is slow.
