Brazil: Wholesale potato prices register an increase for the third consecutive week.
Guarapuava deberá começar la cosecha este mes.
This week (December 1st to 5th), prices for Agata specialty potatoes reached an average of R$ 52.02/25 kg bag in the São Paulo wholesale market (+9.4%), R$ 51.31/bag in Rio de Janeiro (+10.6%) and R$ 54.75/bag in Belo Horizonte (+10.6%).
The increase is due to a reduction in the supply of potatoes from the winter crop producing regions. The producing regions of Paraná (Curitiba, São Mateus do Sul, Ponta Grossa and Irati) and Ibiraiaras (Rio Grande do Sul) are not yet supplying at an accelerated pace, but the expectation is that this will increase this month.
