France forecasts record potato production
The production of storage and mid-season potatoes will reach a record volume of 8.3 Mt in 2025.
The record volume represents a 13% increase compared to 2024 and 24% above the 2020-2024 average. This increase is due exclusively to the increase in planted areas, which grew by 14% in one year. Yields, however, remain stable compared to last year.
The negative note comes from the potato for starch, which continues its decline with an estimated production of 0.45 Mt, 10% less than in 2024 and 44% below the average of the last five years.
