Peru (La Libertad): Potato producers are trained to promote sustainable agriculture.

With the goal of promoting more responsible and sustainable agriculture, Cultivida, in coordination with Senasa and Campo Limpio Perú, held a certification workshop for potato producers in the province of Julcán, La Libertad region.

During the day, farmers received practical training in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), the correct application of the triple washing technique, and the technical and responsible use of agrochemicals—key tools for strengthening productivity and ensuring food safety without compromising the environment.

This effort is part of a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) and its Rural Agro program, institutions that actively support the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving the competitiveness of the agricultural sector and supporting small producers.

"At Cultivida, we reaffirm our commitment to the development of the Peruvian countryside. Spaces like this allow producers to strengthen their knowledge and apply technologies that ensure the sustainability of their crops," said Rubén Carrasco, executive director of Cultivida.

The training in Julcán is part of a national plan that seeks to reach more farming communities, generating multipliers that promote the responsible use of inputs and practices that contribute to a safer and more sustainable future for Peruvian agriculture.
