Peru: Nine small producer organizations sign contract for more than S/5 million with the snack industry
Organizations in the Huánuco region signed a purchase and sale agreement with the snack processing company Inka Crops to supply a total of 2,975 tons of Capiro variety potatoes between December 2025 and April 2026.

The agreement will allow more than 900 farming families to enter the agroindustrial market, strengthening their productive and commercial capacities. The staggered deliveries will coincide with the peak harvest season in the region, guaranteeing the industry a constant supply of raw materials for snack production.
The organizations signing the contract with Inka Crops are the Goyar Punta Communal Agricultural Association in the Umari district, with 180 tons; the Niña Cocha Communal Agricultural Association in the village of Niña Cocha, with 205 tons; the Raco Communal Agricultural Association in the Umari district, with 320 tons; the Huanin Communal Agricultural Association in the Umari district, with 380 tons; and the Chachaspata Communal Agricultural Producers Association, with 320 tons.
Likewise, the Mirando hacia el Futuro Communal Agricultural Association from the Cucho hamlet, with 500 tons; the Ushumayo Communal Agricultural Association from the Umari district, with 520 tons; the Association of Agricultural Producers from the Panaococha hamlet, with 270 tons; and the Futuros de Huairag Agricultural Association from the Umari district, with 280 tons.
These nine associations, which together manage 183 hectares with an average yield of 18 tons per hectare, have been supported by Agromercado since 2023 in a formalization process as part of Commercial Articulation Plans. Thanks to this support, the organizations now have the capacity to issue payment vouchers, maintain accounting records, and establish direct business relationships with larger companies.
Huánuco, the leading region in potato production
The commercial operation comes at a time when Huánuco maintains its leadership in national potato production. In 2024, it reached a production of 792,800 tons on 43.9 thousand hectares.
With operations like this, Agromercado, the commercial agent of Midagri, strengthens its national strategy of commercial articulation for Family Agriculture, promoting direct negotiation schemes between organized producers and formal buyers, and thus strengthening the links between the field and the market.
