Bolivia: Potato processing plant in Tiquipaya enters its final phase with more than 90% progress.
The construction of the Potato Processing Plant in the department of Cochabamba has reached 90% completion to date; when it is operational, it will benefit more than 1,790 producing families, President Luis Arce announced.

President Luis Arce announced that the construction of the Potato Processing Plant in the municipality of Tiquipaya, Cochabamba, is in its final stages, with more than 90% physical progress. The project is part of the government’s import substitution industrialization plan.
The plant represents an investment of more than Bs 17.6 million and will begin operations with four production lines: potato starch, mashed potatoes, fried potato flakes, and potato sticks. According to the official announcement, the design includes the possibility of expanding capacity to include other derived products.
This new industry is expected to generate more than Bs 3 million per year and reach a daily production of three tons. It is projected to have a direct impact on more than 1,790 producing families, as well as more than 10,750 residents of the municipality.
