Brazil: Rains in the South reduce potato supply in wholesale markets
Productivity declined due to the intense heat between February and March. Special Agata potatoes averaged R$82.00 per 25 kg bag at the São Paulo (SP) wholesale market (up 24%).

The increase is mainly due to the rains recorded in the southern region.
In Bom Jesus (RS) and Guarapuava (PR), rains limited the harvest earlier this week, reducing the already low supply in those areas.
Furthermore, the decline in productivity in several regions, due to the intense heat between February and March, has also been impacting the volume currently sold.
Southern Minas Gerais continues to suffer from low supplies due to the end of the "das águas" harvest.
Furthermore, due to the beginning of the month and the proximity of Holy Week, the demand for tubers is higher, as they are a widely consumed product during the holiday.
