India: A seven-day training on quality potato production was conducted at CPRI Modipuram for farmers in Rajasthan.

A significant seven-day training programme focusing on quality potato production and marketing techniques was organised at ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute (CPRI), Regional Centre, Modipuram from March 25 to 31, 2025 . This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the Joint Director Agriculture Extension, Zila Parishad, Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, and was specifically designed for 40 farmers from Hanumangarh, Rajasthan.

The inauguration of this crucial training programme took place on March 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM with considerable enthusiasm . The 40 progressive farmers from Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, for whom the programme was intended, actively participated in the opening ceremony . The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Director, ICAR-Indian Institute of Farming Systems Research (IIFSR), Modipuram . Adding to the expertise shared, Dr. Brijesh Singh, Director, ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute (CPRI), Shimla, contributed to the programme by joining virtually via Zoom link .

During the inaugural session, the importance of potatoes and the relevant technologies were highlighted by both the Directors and the Head of the Centre, Dr. R.K. Singh . This training exemplifies the commitment to empower farmers in the Hanumangarh region of Rajasthan with the latest knowledge and practices in potato cultivation and marketing.
