Tasmania: Potato growers reject Simplot price increase
Simplot potato growers in Tasmania met in Deloraine last night and their verdict on the offer from the processor was unanimous.
The growers stated that the $40 extra offered by the company should be doubled, as the cost of production is making things tough.
The growers have told Laurissa Smith they need at least an extra $80 a tonne to make growing potatoes viable.
