Argentina: Lamb Weston made its first export from the port of Mar del Plata to Brazil.
With this first shipment, the company marks a production milestone toward the grand opening in October.

Lamb Weston, a leading global supplier of frozen potato and sweet potato products to restaurants and retailers around the world, successfully completed its first export from Mar del Plata to Brazil this week, marking a milestone for the region’s productive development toward the official opening of Lamb Weston’s new production facility in Mar del Plata in October.
The shipment, consisting of four containers weighing approximately 30 tons each, departed aboard a container ship and is now headed to Santa Catarina, Brazil.
"This achievement is more than a logistical step: it is the materialization of a project that strengthens the potato production chain throughout the region by integrating technology, employment, and foreign exchange generation for the country," said Romina Broda, VP Latam at Lamb Weston. She added: "This shipment represents Lamb Weston’s commitment to the development of the Argentine agro-industrial sector and the projection of our company in international markets."
It is estimated that 80% of production will be destined for export to Latin America, consolidating Mar del Plata as a new strategic hub for international trade.
The Mar del Plata plant has already created approximately 250 direct jobs and is expected to create 3,000 indirect jobs. Once fully operational, it will become one of the most modern processing plants in the region, consolidating Lamb Weston’s leadership in innovation and as a key employer in the Argentine food industry.
