France buys more Dutch potatoes
France is importing more Dutch consumer and industrial potatoes than last year. This is evident from export figures from the Dutch Potato Organisation (NAO).

The French have imported almost 48,000 tons of potatoes from the Netherlands up to and including April. That is about 6,500 tons more than last year. This makes France a bigger customer than Germany.
Sales to Germany have dropped by 17,500 tons to 39,300 tons this season. The Germans themselves have a large harvest and therefore need fewer potatoes from the Netherlands.
Belgians import less than last year
Exports to Belgium have picked up somewhat in April compared to the previous months. But compared to last year, the amount is much smaller. In total, the Belgians imported 307,500 tons of potatoes from the Netherlands this season, last year this amount was about 75,000 tons larger in the same period.
Due in particular to the lower demand in Belgium, total export within the European Union is almost 100,000 tonnes smaller than a year ago. The United Kingdom imported more potatoes with a total of almost 15,000 tonnes. Sales to Africa are also larger than last year. Senegal and Mauritania in particular bought more potatoes.
