Bolivia: Seeds and fertilizers delivered to increase potato production in Santa Cruz
Through the transfer of new technologies, the goal is to increase productivity in potato crops in eastern Bolivia, boost producers’ incomes, and strengthen security and food sovereignty policies.

The National Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Innovation (Iniaf) and the Korean Program for International Cooperation in Agricultural Technology (Kopia) delivered seeds, fertilizers, and supplies to increase potato production in three communities in Santa Cruz.
"This delivery is part of the project ’Establishing Model Communities to Increase Potato Productivity,’ through the use of high-quality seeds and appropriate technologies in five departments of Bolivia, promoted by Iniaf and Kopia. These supplies will benefit the communities of Mairana, La Yunga, and Mendiola in Santa Cruz, strengthening their agricultural production," a press release states.
Through the transfer of new technologies, the goal is to increase productivity in potato crops in eastern Bolivia, boost producers’ incomes, and strengthen security and the country’s food sovereignty policy.
The shipment includes 900 quintals (qq) of seed potatoes of the registered "Desiree" variety; 338 50-kilogram bags of fertilizer, half diammonium phosphate (DAP) and half Triple 20 mineral; and two potato sorting machines.
The national government, through INIAF, aims to promote agricultural development, boosting the national economy and improving the quality of life for small producers and their families, the document states.
