Tunisia returns potatoes imported from Turkey!
Tunisia has returned 2,500 tonnes of potatoes imported from Türkiye on the grounds that they contained bacteria considered "dangerous" to health, according to the Zamanarabic website.
The Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed that destruction procedures have been implemented and the potatoes will definitely not be placed on the market.
So far, 400 tonnes of the 2,500 tonnes of potatoes have been destroyed.
It is worth noting that the potatoes sent to Tunisia were clean during the health tests carried out before their export from Turkey, but this gave rise to a public controversy.
While producers said no problems had been detected during the tests, the Ministry of Agriculture announced that stricter measures would be taken, the same source details.
