Potatoes posing a risk of food poisoning recalled across France
Due to a risk of food poisoning, potatoes cooked with garlic are being recalled after being sold in December 2024 throughout France. They were marketed by Carrefour, Intermarché and Système U.
Potatoes are the subject of a massive recall throughout France. The use-by date (UBD) indicated on the packaging is incorrect. An error that can cause food poisoning, underlines Rappel Conso , the site for dangerous product alerts .
These are specifically roasted new potatoes with garlic. The product, distributed by the company Jeca, is packaged in a 600 g tray. The latter contains the following information: barcode 3271620100013, batch M241100951 and use-by date 01/05/2025. However, the real DLC that should have been indicated is 05/01/2025.
Therefore, it is advisable not to consume these potatoes, as the use-by date has been exceeded. "The use-by date is an imperative limit and it is important to respect it. Beyond this date, the foods concerned are unfit for consumption because they are dangerous for health" , we can read on the website of the Ministry of the Economy .
The product in question was sold between December 3 and 19, 2024 by Intermarché, Carrefour and Système U. A refund is planned for customers who purchased these potatoes. They must request it before January 20, 2025, the end date of the recall procedure. For more information on this recall, consumers can call 03 87 87 65 10.
