Irlanda: Retail and consumer demand remains buoyant in Ireland
Retail and consumer demand remains buoyant. Drier weather over the past number of days has given growers the first opportunity in many areas to begin groundwork and start planting both early and maincrop varieties.
As many media outlets have reported, it is likely that stocks will run extremely tight towards the end of June.
In the U.K. the weather has also improved and plantings have resumed. For chipping varieties, grower confidence remains strong, and some sellers have pushed values higher again for best samples on repeat order trade. In many European countries, it has been reported that the delay in new season will be three to four weeks.
