Mexico: Potatoes and avocados register sharp price increases

These increases come weeks after Fernando Tovar, leader of the vendors at the Argüelles Market, warned about  price instability in various agricultural products due to weather and production conditions in different regions of the country. At that time, he mentioned that some foods could experience temporary price increases as supply decreased. 

Currently, vendors expect prices to stabilize in the coming weeks as supply normalizes. However, they acknowledge that, in the meantime, families will have to make an extra effort to purchase these basic goods, especially potatoes, which are currently leading the price increases in the local market.
