Ecuador: Farmers in Cayambe benefit from inputs for potato production
One hundred small producers from the Cayambe canton received technological packages for potato production, thanks to the coordinated work between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) and private companies.

The beneficiaries received nutritional and phytosanitary kits, which are made up of soil fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides and adjuvants. The investment of the subsidy provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock is approximately 13,000 dollars.
Producers purchased the technology packages at a cost of $50.50 and MAG covered a cost of $130, representing 72% of the subsidy of the total value of the kits.
María Quishpe, a beneficiary of the technological packages, expressed her gratitude for the delivery of the kits. “I am very pleased to share this moment of joy and satisfaction in which Minister Danilo Palacios makes the dream of all farmers come true. This is dignity and this is progress,” she said.
Francisco Robalino, MAG District Director for Pichincha, highlighted the importance of the delivery of these packages by the National Government. "With this delivery, what we seek is to promote potato cultivation in the canton. In addition, this is a sign of recognition of the effort that you, fellow farmers, make every day," he said.
The Pichincha District Directorate continues with the schedule of deliveries of partially subsidized technological packages that aim to improve agricultural production systems so that small and medium-sized producers can increase their agricultural production capacity.
