North America potato production estimated to be down four percent from 2023

The 2024 potato production for the United States and Canada combined is estimated at 545 million cwt, down 4% from the 2023 estimate. The United States potato production is estimated at 418 million cwt, down 5% from last year. Canada’s potato growers harvested 127 million cwt, up slightly from 2023.
The 2023 potato production for the United States, Canada, and Mexico combined is 611 million cwt, up 8% from the 2022 estimate. The United States’ 2023 potato production is estimated at 440 million cwt, up 9% from 2022. Canada’s potato growers harvested 127 million cwt during 2023, up 2% from 2022. Mexico’s potato growers harvested 43.8 million cwt during 2023, up 6% from 2022.
