Russia: Technology unveiled that enables rapid propagation of seed potatoes without special equipment
This technology allows for the rapid production of the required amount of planting material of valuable varieties.
According to the report, the method developed by researchers at the aforementioned institute, which is part of the Russian Academy of Sciences, allows for the cultivation of valuable tubers directly at home without the need for complex laboratory equipment or expensive reagents. The scientists noted that potatoes contain up to 4.6 percent protein, which includes all eight essential amino acids necessary for humans, so a daily consumption of 600 grams of the tuber can fully cover the body’s vitamin needs.
Nikolai Semchuk, senior researcher at the Novgorod Agricultural Research Institute, emphasized that they had developed a method that allows potato tubers to be protected from infections and grown in an apartment, house, or summer cottage.
