There, the "Desiree" potato is one of the most cultivated and sought-after products for its size, quality, and flavor, ideal for preparing French fries, especially in demand in Santa Cruz, La Paz, and other departments.
Isidro Ortiz, a local producer, eagerly awaits the harvest, which will take place in mid-August. “The potatoes are full, healthy, and clean. That’s what people at the market want: a product in good condition and with a good presentation,” he emphasizes.
Each plant produces 12 to 14 enormous potatoes. "It’s going to be a good yield," Ortiz says happily, as he proudly pulls out one of the plants to show off the results of the work supported by PAR III.
