Irlanda: Demand still strong for new season Queens - average yields reported
The Irish food service sector continues to pick up, but it is still falling significantly short of normal capacity.
Demand remains strong for new season Queens with average yields reported; it is encouraging that all retailers are now stocking new season Queens which is earlier than last year.
A lot of lifting progress has been made in the south-east and more volumes from the east coast will be coming onto the market in the coming week.
At this point more stock has been cleared, compared to this point in 2019. The majority of Home Guard and Premier varieties have now been moved. Main season crop is progressing quite well and blight warning remains in place.

In the UK, the new season crop is now present in most markets. The rain this week has continued to support crop development. There are reports of growers holding off lifting in some regions, as the market continues to be largely well supplied.
