Technical Information: Strategic biostimulation to mitigate stress from high temperatures

High temperatures represent one of the main abiotic stresses that affect crops, negatively impacting photosynthesis, water balance and metabolic efficiency of crops.

In this context, biostimulation is becoming established as a key tool to improve plant tolerance and recovery capacity.

Macro-Sorb® , in its foliar and organic formulations, is a biostimulant developed by Brometan for potato cultivation. It is formulated with free L-α-amino acids obtained through Enzyneer® technology , unique worldwide, which guarantees a high degree of enzymatic hydrolysis and a high proportion of biologically active amino acids. This composition is key in situations of heat stress , where the plant’s synthesis capacity is limited and it requires an external supply of functional amino acids—such as proline, glycine, glutamine, and arginine—essential for osmotic regulation, cell membrane protection, and rapid metabolic reactivation. This allows the crop to reduce its energy expenditure and sustain essential processes such as photosynthesis and growth during periods of intense heat.

Macro-Sorb® also provides organic nitrogen and micronutrients such as boron, zinc, manganese, and other nutrients , which actively participate in chlorophyll synthesis, enzyme activation, and the maintenance of crop vigor. Its rapid foliar absorption and high compatibility in mixtures make it an indispensable tool for both preventative and curative applications .
