Differentiated Zone of Seed Production of the SE
In the Differentiated Zone for potato seeds in the province of Buenos Aires, the area reached 3,074 ha , similar to the average for the last five years.
During the current campaign, some lots in the Zone were affected by adverse weather conditions (heavy rains and hail), which could affect the overall production available.
Regarding the surface area by variety, the area destined for industry was greater than in previous years, to the detriment of varieties for consumption, especially Spunta, with almost 100 hectares less than the previous season, including the seed destined for production lots for the fresh market and also those for seed multiplication.
