Most used price
The Belgapom price for Fontane and Challenger is the most frequently used price observed on the previous working day(s) for processing into frozen potato products, field crop 35 mm+, suitable for fries, ex producer, loose on truck, for immediate delivery/collection.

Free market and contracts
The weekly Belgapom quotation for early potatoes (July-August), for Fontane and for Challenger (storage season) gives a clear indication of the evolution of the free potato market for the processing of potatoes into frozen fries.
In addition, growers, trade and processing increasingly use cultivation contracts, which aim at greater stability of the raw material price. The relationship between both instruments to buy and sell potatoes can differ from company to company.
Both components must be taken into account to monitor the evolution of the raw material price.
